She really cares about these kids. She has four of her own children, but has always looked out for all of the kids at the high school and treated them as if they were her own.The enormous workload that she has doesnt take away from how caring she is to parents and students. It also reminds people to drive safe, because there is a chance a driver and/or their passengers wont make it to their destination. It is also a reminder that the road itself may be dangerous.People have been placing memorials where a loved one had spent their final moments here on earth for centuries. The memorials put family members and friends at ease, giving them a sense of peace and closure. For some of those who passed on and do not have an exact final resting place, it is like a cemetery spot that can be visited. This is in loving memory of Kelley Anne Fritz, May 4, 1998 to Sept. 25, 2010.Jillian FritzEditors Note: Kelley Anne Fritz, age 12, perished in an accident near the Bonsall Bridge.

Our community came together and supported the 22nd annual CROP walk held June 2 to raise money for the hungry. Various churches and their pastors participated in the walk, along with other Fallbrook residents for an approximate total of 250 walkers. The total amount of money raised is not available yet, however 25 percent of the money raised will stay here in Fallbrook to help feed those in need in our community. The rest of the money helps those in need across the US and around the world. Special guests included Herman and Carol Van Den Bosch, founders of the Fallbrook CROP Walk.I would like to personally thank everyone who participated in the walk and all those who donated money for this very important cause. Special thank you goes to our local businesses that helped pay for the t-shirts, and Ultragraphix for doing an outstanding job in printing our t-shirts under a very tight deadline. A special thank you goes to our local Sheriffs volunteers for directing traffic and keeping our walkers safe. Last but not least, a special thank you goes to our Fallbrook Food Pantry for hosting this event with food and refreshments. The pantry board and the rest of their volunteers do a wonderful job all year round to help our Fallbrook citizens who are in need. We have a very special community that shows compassion for the needy. You can still make a donation to this years walk by contacting me at (760) 659-8005 or fallbrookcropwalk@yahoo.com.
It is with great sorrow that I read that People to People has closed its doors. For 32 years, People to People was a tremendous free employment service to Fallbrook. My mother (Mary Clark) volunteered her time for 25 years, along with countless others, to help the citizens of our community find jobs... and for businesses to find good employees. My family located wonderful home healthcare workers to care for our parents, landscaping professionals, and home repair people that were very qualified in their areas of expertise. We felt confident using (and trusting in) People to People.I used People to People to locate the best employee for Legacy Endowment we ever could have found by any other means. Each applicant was screened and interviewed by the People to People volunteers before being sent out on a job.I was very disappointed to hear that the closure was due to lack of funding and/or donations from our locals. This amazing organization will be sorely missed!I honor all of those wonderful volunteers. Don Kinner, I salute you and your whole crew.Tina Rainey

Our l8th anniversary Annual Garden Tour was a smashing success. AAUW received an outpouring of support from the community. The Village News provided us with the coverage needed to make the event a success. Several times we noted that they ran articles advertising the event as well as descriptions and pictures of the six magnificent gardens. This event can only be successful if homeowners with a love for gardens volunteer their special gardens. Their gracious attitude welcomed hundreds of guests to tour their gardens and share their many tips for planting a garden of abundance.A raffle helped raise money at Palomares House. The community business partners contributed to the success of raffle baskets and Major Market helped out by selling tickets to the event as well as hanging a sign promoting the event. In additional to the help we received from Village News we also extend our thanks to the other area media sources and Road Runner Errands for helping us get out the word for this event. The help we received from those mentioned helped us to increase the amount of money for scholarships.
I just could not help writing this letter regarding the Fallbrook Albertsons decorations for Mothers Day.When my husband and I entered the store on May 10, I was overwhelmed with the delightful display of Mothers Day flowers. The minute we entered the store, I was captivated by the array of floral choices available for gifts to moms. I found myself wandering from arrangements of orchids to bouquets of multi-hued roses, and gorgeous mixed bundles of various selections of flowers. I just did not want to leave the area. When I turned my head from the flowers I was gazing upon, fresh strawberries were being dipped in chocolate then charmingly packaged for a wonderful presentation. But it did not stop there, the entire front of the store was chock-full of the most appealing and cheerful balloons. What a commendable job the Albertsons staff did with their clever display for Mothers Day. It was a very joyful place to be that morning and I did so appreciate all the effort involved in presenting the consumer with so many selections. I wish I had 10 moms to present a gift to on her special day.Barbro Hutchison
